Dream Big: How Billie Sharp Built Wealth, Purpose, and a Life by Design

Dec 11, 2025

When most of us think about wealth, we picture saving for a house, paying off debt, and maybe investing in property or shares. But for entrepreneur and public speaker Billie Sharp, wealth-building meant something entirely different — creating multiple businesses, building a community, and redefining what freedom looks like for her family.

In the latest episode of Money with Alpha, Billie shares her extraordinary journey from a 16-year-old juggling three jobs to the owner of six thriving companies. Her story is one of courage, curiosity, and a relentless drive to create opportunity — not just for herself, but for others.

From Surviving to Thriving

Billie grew up in a mining town, raised by a single mum. Money, she says, was confusing — sometimes scarce, sometimes flowing, but always emotionally charged. Like many of us, she fell into the trap of spending everything she earned, equating money with freedom rather than security.

It wasn’t until her husband challenged her to save — even giving her a $50 weekly allowance — that Billie began to change her habits. That small act became a turning point. “Once I saw my savings growing,” she said, “I realized I wasn’t missing out — I was building something.”

Building Business Through Purpose

Today, Billie and her husband own businesses in tech, e-commerce, and trades. But her success didn’t come from a master plan — it came from spotting gaps in the market. Her first business began as one-on-one coaching. Later, when clients kept asking for marketing help, she turned that problem into a full-scale agency employing 15 people.

Another business — a cleaning and yard maintenance company — serves as a community enterprise, providing flexible jobs for people returning to work, escaping domestic violence, or managing disabilities. “It’s our love business,” she smiles. “It might not make huge profits, but it makes a difference.”

Balancing Work, Family, and Freedom

Billie’s life today is intentionally unconventional. She homeschools her daughter, travels for speaking engagements, and works closely with her husband, who retired at 37. For her, wealth isn’t about accumulating more — it’s about designing a lifestyle that aligns with her values.

Generational Wealth and Big Dreams

When asked what drives her, Billie doesn’t hesitate: legacy and impact. She defines generational wealth not as inheritance, but as opportunity — the freedom for her family to choose how they live, learn, and give back. Her ultimate dream? To become a billionaire — not for fame, but to fund global change through philanthropy.

“I want to create a board of people who bring solutions to the world’s biggest problems — and we seed-fund those solutions,” she explains. It’s an audacious goal, but as Billie says, “Dream big, then dream bigger.”

Billie’s story is a reminder that money, when aligned with purpose, becomes a tool for transformation. Whether you’re just starting your financial journey or scaling your empire, her message is clear: Know your numbers, trust your intuition, and never stop dreaming.
